AMH’s HIV/AIDS Programs

AMH runs the largest HIV clinical training program in Kenya and supports one of the largest HIV clinics in Malawi

HIV clinical training, Kenya: AMH has trained over 3,500 health workers in a hands-on mentorship program at three mission hospitals in Kenya. This program implements the national HIV training curriculum in collaboration with the Kenyan government, NGOs, and health facilities across the country. It is the largest such program in the country.

Partners in Hope, Malawi: AMH’s Vice- President-Strategic Health Partnerships, Dr. Perry Jansen founded what has become one of the largest HIV clinics in the country. PIH, with support from the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, provides oversight and assistance to nearly 140 HIV clinics in the country. AMH has strengthened PIH’s capacity in multiple ways, including building an inpatient ward, providing community-based support for those living with HIV, renovating and equipping an operating theater, and installing solar power and an oxygen plant.
