To realize a future of growing, sustainable, and vibrant health systems in Africa, qualified and compassionate health professionals are desperately needed. Too many talented young Africans, who could be the medical leaders of tomorrow, lack the opportunities to train. What’s needed are more committed and attentive faculty; teaching space; housing; tuition support; and functional health systems in which to see and care for patients.

Mission hospitals are in a strong position to train African health workers thanks to functional systems, experienced missionary and African faculty, and a compassionate Christian ethos.

We have trained 3,000 health workers, including 217 doctors, surgeons, nurses, anesthetists and others in degree granting programs; and 2,800 care providers in Kenya’s largest HIV clinical training program.
